Promote Self-healing

At the Acupunctuur arts Praktijk Tjiong, our treatment approach is to combine Western (conventional) medicine with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) (acupuncture in particular) according to the personal needs of each patient. Our goal is to improve your health and your overall quality of life. Acupuncture can be used to treat a broad range of symptoms and diseases. The positive effects of acupuncture are widely recognised and described in scientific research (www.naav.nlwww.iocob.nl), in particular for the treatment of chronic pain. Acupuncture leads to better self-healing mechanisms, it stimulates the body to release chemicals or hormones that trigger the body’s self-regulating and self-repair system. There is sufficient modern scientific evidence that acupuncture treatment influences the nervous system and hormonal system in a positive way. Acupuncture can also be used to boost your immune system, which leads to your feeling more energetic and more capable of managing your own health.

Holistic vision on health: Mind & Body in balance

My vision on health is a holistic one, treat a person while addressing body and mind as a whole. In this approach additional advise will be given about lifestyle adjustments, nutrition, coping with stress and dealing with difficult emotions, using Mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR according to Jon Kabat Zinn) methods. Improving your health starts with taking good care of yourself, and acupuncture will assist you with that.

The whole body of treatment will also focus on empowering you to find your own way of balancing health, feeling good both body and mind and experiencing joy in your life.

Integrative medicine: the best of East and West

In the clinic, we apply the principles of integrative medicine. In practical terms, this means we integrate your holistic Acupuncture treatment within your Western medical treatment. This is why we advise you to visit you general practitioner with your complaints before starting acupuncture treatment. Also we advise you to continue your prescribed medication.
